I’m an art director & designer with over 10 years experience across agencies and in-house brand studio teams.
I understand the importance of visual balance, composition, tone, and appropriate execution. I can see patterns and relationships within visuals. I understand what belongs together and how it resonates with audiences who haven't been involved in its making. I make choices that seem obvious in hindsight but are rare in practice, turning chaos into coherence with both good taste and good judgement. My value comes from deciding what matters, not just producing more of what might.
I like to get under the skin of things. To read the manual, as it were, and learn the mechanics. In the past, I've needed to brief photographers and art direct video campaigns for global launches and initiatives. I start by figuring out how a camera works and how to set up the lighting. I discover the correct names of camera movements and visual techniques. I learn how to edit in post-production, just in case. Not to micro-manage, but to understand. To learn the language of other creatives and meet them on a level where they know I respect and appreciate their contributions and expertise. Because of this, I feel the effort behind a piece of work, instead of just seeing an end result.
